Meet Dr. Netsy

Hello, my name is Netsanet Mulugeta, and I am a Doctorally-Prepared Nurse Practitioner and specialize in pediatrics. I've worked in the healthcare field for over 15 years. I was introduced to the Integrative Medicine approach while trying to help my son who was diagnosed with severe autism and intellectual disability right before his 3rd birthday. I was told due to his severity he may never talk, would be diapered for life, and may need to be institutionalized.
After almost a year of conventional therapy and very little progress, I started to do deeper research and found that working on underlying medical issues related to autism can help improve outward symptoms and behaviors. We stopped focusing on "fixing" his behaviors and shifted to finding the underlying, root causes.
It took us almost 3 years to investigate and treat his underlying issues, but I'm blessed to say he is now fully verbal, has friends, and is even at the top of his class! After witnessing his progress, I knew I could not return to practicing medicine the same way. I decided I needed to help these families and shift the paradigm of autism treatment and focus on the medical underlying issues. I have spent thousands of hours researching both traditional and functional medicine approaches with access to resources not easily accessible to the public. My own experiences have made me even more passionate about helping medically complex patients. I have centered my care for the pediatric patient to be holistic to help promote a healthier recovery.
